I’ve been taking advantage of the public library lately, checking out some relatively new books from famous designers, and revisiting some of my favorite interior design books. I wanted to share a roundup of my top five favorite interior design books, the ones that I’ve been mining for inspiration for my own home….
Eastside Handmade this weekend!
I just got word of an impromptu handmade marketplace popping up on Saturday, and decided to take part. I’ll be selling pillows, tea towels, coasters, and postcards at Eastside Handmade from 11-5 this Saturday. The market is taking place at Shopclass, a great new vintage home decor shop in Highland Park. They have a surprisingly affordable collection of furniture and home decor, so stop by if you live in LA, and check out the shop and the handmade pop-up market!
Just a sample of what you’ll find at Eastside Handmade this Saturday:
- Pillows from Cotton & Flax
- Stationery and Illustrations from Small Adventure
- Handmade Ties from Scout Ties
- One of a Kind Ceramics from A Question of Eagles
Free Patterned iPhone Wallpaper – Kraft Triangles
It has been a while since I offered a new iPhone wallpaper – this year has proven to be a bit more chaotic than last, and I haven’t had a moment to design a new one until now. As a thank you to my readers, I like to offer a little thank you freebie from time to time – a free downloadable iPhone wallpaper background designed by yours truly. This month, to make up for lost time, I’ll be offering TWO new iPhone wallpapers for you to enjoy.
Click here to download wallpaper #1. Click here to download wallpaper #2.
What’s that? You have the iPhone 5? Well, aren’t you fancy! Click here and here for your downloads.
This month, the wallpaper background features a triangle pattern that is featured on postcard sets that I sell in the Cotton & Flax shop. (Note: these postcards have now sold out! Thanks!)
This wallpaper should work for most smartphones, not just the iPhone (although it may get cropped depending on the screen size). You can always download the other free iPhone wallpapers I’ve designed, too!
To Download: Click the link and it will take you directly to the image. If you are on your phone, you can simply save the image to your phone, and set it as your wallpaper in the settings area of your phone. If you’re on a computer, save the image to your computer, then email the photo to yourself. Open the email on your phone, save the photo to your phone, and set the photo as the wallpaper!
A couple exciting things
Earlier this morning, Cotton & Flax was featured on Martha Stewart’s American Made instagram feed! They featured the photo above, I’m excited to have been included among so many talented American craftspeople.
Over the weekend, I worked on finishing up the product photos for the Spring/Summer catalog, this time with help from my friends Hollin (who is a talented photographer) and Keiko (of Small Adventure fame). Besides just taking photos, they also helped me with styling, which is always so tricky when you’re attached to the products. It was great having them around to help me brainstorm new ways of showcasing my products, I’m excited to share the results soon!
Yet another sneak peek of S/S
I used a lot of fresh produce when I shot photos for the Spring/Summer collection, it was nice to have a pop of color against that lovely linen color. This is the linen dish towel I keep in my own kitchen, I love how soft it has gotten with age.
