I made another trip to the Los Angeles fashion district, where there are blocks and blocks of fabric stores overflowing with things to delight even the most seasoned crafter. I was just picking up some small samples of some of the fabrics I’ll be using for my Fall/Winter line for Cotton & Flax, but I took a few shots of beautifully patterned fabrics with my phone to share here.
Most of the bolts of fabric were not identified by brand, but hopefully I will find some time to track down the makers of these fabrics soon.
These ones I do know… Liberty of London!
Any favorite spots in the district? I havent been since I started sewing but I remember that it was real hit or miss with with the different shops. I’d love to know the ones you like.
Michael Levine is my favorite in the neighborhood, primarily because I find it easiest to navigate. Lots of exploring left to do, though, I feel like I’ve barely scratched the surface.
Thanks!
Oh the Chevron … sigh!
great finds! you’ve got a great eye. Next time you’re going downtown let me know, i’d love to meet up with you.
okay, I’ll give it a try! the chevrons are riley blake, next is parson grey (amy butler’s husband’s new line), ikats come straight from india and the next is from anna maria horner’s new line (field study)
Nichole, you’re a fabrics genius! I love it!
