I wanted to share this shot from a photoshoot I did a couple weeks ago. While I don’t think I’ll be using this particular photo in my Spring catalog, I love the bizarre scale of the pillows on this smaller than average sofa. Really excited to share a more full collection… soon!
Experimenting with paper goods
Just a quick instagram shot of what I’ve been developing this week. Thinking about making more fun patterned paper goods, but haven’t found the time to prototype them until this week. What do you think? I’d sell these with a lovely set of mailing labels so you could address them easily and send them around the world.
Featured Site on Virb!
Virb kindly featured Cotton & Flax on their blog as their site of the week! I built the Cotton & Flax website using Virb, and I’m delighted that they are highlighting the site. Check out their post here, and visit the Cotton & Flax portfolio site, which recently got a little facelift!
Officially Obsessed with Falconwright.
Falconwright debuted their spring line yesterday, and it just confirms what I’ve known all along: these ladies are brilliant with patterns. I want all four of these clutches… I might have to treat myself to an early birthday gift.
A little pattern never hurts.
I’ve been thinking about the many ways you can add pattern to your decor, and while textiles are my favorite, I compiled another collection that uses pattern in different ways. In paticular, I love the way that the Eames chair creates repetitive shapes in the design of the chair, without using any fabric at all.

A Long Overdue Print of the Week
Have you been missing Print of the Week? I’ve been taking a break from the scheduled content here on the blog, but I’ll be getting back into it in a more focused way very soon. Thinking about featuring patterns instead of printmaking for a while, as a way to share more of what I’m working on.
This week, I wanted to share this beautiful monotype print from David Row. I love how fluid and layered it is, it really has a bold impact. That blue reminds me of the most gorgeous indigo dyed fabrics, even though this is a work on paper, it just screams “textiles” to me. I’ll be keeping work like this in mind as I work to create new patterns for Cotton & Flax.
