When Mollie Makes got in touch to request a photo for their upcoming issue, I was pretty excited! Needless to say, I was thrilled when I picked up my copy to see that they had featured a photo from the Spring Collection as the intro to their Living section. Always fun to see my work in print 🙂
Behind the Scenes
New Patchwork Pillows in the Shop
Just added a fresh batch of one-of-a-kind patchwork pillows to the shop! I love these pillows, they make a big statement.
I started making these pillows with pieces left over from other Cotton & Flax projects, in an effort to move towards a zero waste studio environment. While they take considerably more time to create than the other pillows in my collection, I love spending time working on them, combining fabrics until I find blocks that seem to fit together perfectly. It’s a creative effort to be sure, a bit different from the creative process of designing a new pattern, but still quite fun – like putting together a puzzle.
Can you see one of these patchwork pillows in your home? I keep one of the first ones I made on my mid century lounge chair, where would you keep yours?
Cotton & Flax in Tropic Magazine
Very excited to share some recent press, this time in Tropic Magazine! This Ft. Lauderdale based design and living publication is a treat to read – check out the feature on Cotton & Flax here.
I was also excited to see Cotton & Flax mentioned on Miss Moss and SwissMiss last week! So grateful to these wonderful magazines and websites for sharing my work with their readers.
Seconds Sale on Coasters
Just launched a seconds sale on coasters! These “seconds” are very nearly perfect, just a little smaller than usual – 3.75″ rather than 4″ square. This sale is an incredible value, and since there are limited numbers, I am listing them all in the shop as a flash sale.
This is a great time to stock up on coasters for all your Spring and Summer cocktail parties, these coaster sets are on sale for 30% off! There are limited quantities available, so shop now!
A Fresh New Look
You may have noticed that the blog got a little update recently! The changes might seem minimal, but I am super pleased with how much more streamlined things have become. Big thanks to Kate Miss for working with me on the re-design, she’s got a great eye for the details.
If you’ve got the Cotton & Flax blog bookmarked, the address has changed to blog.cottonandflax.com – update your bookmarks accordingly! Thanks so much for reading!
Cotton & Flax is the Featured Shop on Etsy!
The Cotton & Flax shop has been open on Etsy for a couple of years, and in that short time I’ve learned so much! Etsy has been an amazing resource and tool to grow my business, and so I am all the more excited to share that Cotton & Flax is the featured shop on Etsy this week! You’ll see my smiling face on their homepage through Friday, and you can read the article about my shop over on the Etsy blog.
I’ve been delighted to see how much press Cotton & Flax has been getting since the Spring launch, this new feature included! Here are a few more posts you might have missed:
- Learn why I’m committed to USA manufacturing in my interview with The American Edit.
- See my work on SF Girl By Bay, one of my all-time favorite home decor blogs.
- Two fun magazine features – one from Anthology Mag, and one from Frankie, the magazine all the cool girls in Australia seem to be reading.
