I wanted to share this shot from a photoshoot I did a couple weeks ago. While I don’t think I’ll be using this particular photo in my Spring catalog, I love the bizarre scale of the pillows on this smaller than average sofa. Really excited to share a more full collection… soon!
Behind the Scenes
Experimenting with paper goods
Just a quick instagram shot of what I’ve been developing this week. Thinking about making more fun patterned paper goods, but haven’t found the time to prototype them until this week. What do you think? I’d sell these with a lovely set of mailing labels so you could address them easily and send them around the world.
Featured Site on Virb!
Virb kindly featured Cotton & Flax on their blog as their site of the week! I built the Cotton & Flax website using Virb, and I’m delighted that they are highlighting the site. Check out their post here, and visit the Cotton & Flax portfolio site, which recently got a little facelift!
One Year of Cotton & Flax
Yesterday marked one full year since I opened the Cotton & Flax Etsy shop! Celebrated at home with a delicious chocolate salted caramel cupcake, and spent the evening reflecting on what I’ve accomplished in one year. There is so much I want to do in Cotton & Flax’s second year, I hope you’ll come along with me as I continue to grow this little home textiles business.
In Progress
Just a couple iPhone photos of work in progress. Working hard to get things finished to photograph this weekend, I have a little photoshoot planned.
Lots of activities like this happening around the studio lately: stamping the interiors of pillow flaps with the Cotton & Flax brand. No itchy tags here, you can rest your head easily on my pillows.
Name that color!
I have been spending some time today working on my product descriptions over in the shop, and I keep stumbling over how to describe this fabric color. It’s such a beautiful fabric, and has consistently been one of my best sellers, but my customers all seem to describe it differently. Some say it’s a mustard color, some say olive… all I can say for sure is that it’s a gorgeously saturated yellow-green.
How about it, readers? Feel like giving me some suggestions on what to call this color?
