Their shop is just gorgeous — elegantly merchandised with tea & ceramics of exceptional quality and character. The owner, Peter, has over a decade of field experience with traditional Chinese tea, and his expertise really shows.

Excited to announce another very special stockist – The Library Store here in LA! These folks run a retail shop inside the central downtown library, and the sales from the store benefit the Los Angeles Library Foundation. You might not know that many of my previous jobs before I founded Cotton & Flax were in bookstores and libraries (I’ve worked in four different libraries!), so being able to work together with the Library Foundation is pretty exciting for me.
The shop itself is adorable, and chocked full of awesome finds. Book bags are only the beginning: the library store has a great selection of stationery and paper goods, plus awesome gifts for anyone who enjoys a good book. They also have a store on wheels – a bookmobile of sorts; more like a mobile version of their amazing retail shop.

I’ve got lots of news to share with you all (it’s been a crazy month!), but first, I have a new stockist to share: Half Hitch Goods! I’m excited to see my coasters and tea towels alongside goods from some of my favorite makers, including Sqirl jams and ceramics from Helen Levi.
Half Hitch Goods is unlike any of my other current stockists and retail partners. They have a lovely online shop filled with beautiful, handmade goods, but here’s the kicker – they also have an awesome mobile shop that travels around the West Coast! They call it the “Rolling Shoppe”, and their retro VW Vanagon T3 is beyond cool. I am so charmed by the idea of my work going out on a sort of tour, so I’m delighted to have Half Hitch Goods selling my work.

Very excited to add another fantastic stockist – Individual Medley in the Atwater Village neighborhood of Los Angeles. This Eastside LA gem is one of my favorite shops. They stock beautiful clothing for men, women, and children, as well as gorgeous handmade jewelry and gifts.
The owners, Monica and Justin, have created a beautiful retail space, filled with the work of indie designers, many of whom make their work in LA. I can always find a great gift in this shop, whether it’s a birthday gift for my best lady friend, a special treat for my mom, or a new shirt or trinket for the boyfriend. Plus, they carry the work of some of my favorite designers, including Tracy Wilkinson and Chaparral Studio.
One of my favorite things to do when I have some free time is to stop at Proof, the bakery down the street, pick up an iced coffee and a chocolate croissant, and then stop by Individual Medley to see what’s new.

After all the excitement around the announcement of Cotton & Flax tea towels being carried by CB2, I was floored when one of my favorite home decor companies, West Elm, got in touch, asking to carry a selection of my wares as part of their West Elm Local collection. It’s been an incredible experience working with these giants in the world of home decor, and I am beyond excited that corporations are showing an interest in promoting smaller companies and the beautiful work of local makers.
For a limited time, you can now find Cotton & Flax pillows and tea towels at West Elm stores in LA and San Diego! Take a peek at the local makers included in each store, West Elm posted roundups of the LA Local and San Diego Local collections on their blog. Remember how things got a bit quiet here on the blog in January? I was working on an exciting wholesale order: a selection of two of my favorite tea towels made for CB2! Check out the navy plus and the linen plus tea towels on the CB2 website (they should be in stores in March!)
Have you shopped at CB2 before? I think of it as the quirky younger sister of Crate and Barrel. I am thrilled to be part of a collection of handmade goods being sold at all CB2 stores this season, which was curated by the folks at Renegade Craft Fair!
Both tea towels are printed with my popular “plus” pattern, and lest you forget, these were all screenprinted by hand. Each tea towel was sewn in my studio, and printed by yours truly.
I have to admit, I’m excited to see Cotton & Flax products on the glossy page of a CB2 catalog.
