I have been collaborating this month with Sara from Matchbox Kitchen to create some holiday treats! Today she shared a delicious gift basket on her blog, which is a perfect gift for a host/hostess, or anyone who appreciates a tasty treat.

Sara combined her homemade fig and nut loaf (a new take on fruitcake – but this one is actually delicious!), her favorite coffee beans, and some felt coasters and a linen tea towel from Cotton & Flax to create a great gift set. I could also see putting delicious jams, teas, or even candies in a basket like this. You can use the tea towel to line the bottom of the basket, creating the perfect little nest for your favorite treats.

LA friends, take note: Matchbox Kitchen will be hosting a pop-up bakery event in Eagle Rock this weekend! She’ll be offering cake by the slice, doughnuts, and cookies (including my all time favorite PB&J cookies!) Find all the details here.

This week, LA finally got a tiny taste of Fall – and some much needed rain. Even though the temperature is hardly brisk, my friend Sara from Matchbox Kitchen and I have been brainstorming some seasonal treats to share. Inspired by her recent apple picking adventure, Sara and I decided to make a batch of mulled apple cider to channel the Holiday spirit.

Mulled cider makes a great compliment to the gingerbread cookies Sara shared last week (or any leftover pie you might still have in the fridge). Plus, you can add a bit of bourbon to make this drink perfect for holiday happy hour.

For my fall/winter photo shoot, I worked with several friends to create a cheerful holiday setting to showcase my new textile designs. My friend Sara, from Matchbox Kitchen, baked some delicious gingerbread cookies for me to use as props along with my linen cocktail napkins. They added a festive touch, even though it was 85° on the day of the shoot, and felt nothing like the holiday season at the time. After we finished taking photos for the lookbook, Laure and I made a quick snack of these delicious cookies – they were SO good!
